Publishing your article to the various article directories can seem like a daunting task. Where do you even start to find article directories? Well, it's pretty simple, you search for them. A quick Google search returns just shy of 82 MILLION results for article directories. Still think you'll have trouble finding one?
Now, there are a few, what I call top-tier article directories around. If you've been at the article marketing game very long, you've probably heard of the big guys: Ezinearticles, Articlesbase, Goarticles, and many more. I love those three and a handful of others.
There is much debate on the "Quality versus Quantity" question regarding article directories.
You see, there are literally tens of thousands of article directories on the web. Some are niche directories catering to such topics as golf, pets, health, etc… Many of them are shady, crappy looking, no ranking, fly-by-night operations that are short-lived. They pop up, hoping to get submissions, traffic and revenue but most never make it. Some people submit to these guys with the "any back link is a good back link" mentality. Again, quantity or quality?
Honestly, I can't really tell you which one should do. If you put a gun to my head, I'd say, "Put that gun down, stupid", then I'd say that you should do both.
I have seen people submitting to 5 or 6 article directories and outrank someone submitting to thousands of them.
Just when I think I have it figured out, someone throws a wrench in the machine.
I will say this, if you choose to do both and submit to lots of directories, do a couple of things. First, get some good article submission software, like Article Marketing Robot. Second, take some time to learn it and set up as many article directories as you can. It will do most of it automatically, but there will be some that you have to set up manually. It is worth your time to do as many as you can. That's the whole point isn't it, getting tons of back links?
Lastly, learn how to spin an article, this is where a thesaurus becomes your friend. You simply write portions of your article with "spinnable", meaning interchangeable, wording. Then you have a list of similar words that would make sense in the same place. If you have multiple sections of spinnable material, the robot will spin the in random order so that you essentially have a completely different article as far as wording goes, not over all idea. It's not as hard as I just made it sound, plus, there are tutorials.
Oh, the reason you really want this software is because it takes about 3-5 minutes to submit an article to the directory by hand. Now, I'm not too good at math but, 3 minutes x thousands of article directories equals me not having any fun so, I use the software.
As far as the quality directories go, you'll be able to tell them when you see them. You'll be able to tell rinky-dink from reputable. If you have any doubt, just compare them back to ezinearticles or articlesbase. Those two are the standard. Submit to the high-quality ones by hand, the lower quality ones by submission software. That's how I roll.
